Some of my most recently developed principles I run my life by:
- Positive decisions only.
In any decision, there is no 'Choice C) fail to decide'
Failure to decide is usually worse than either of the options you could choose between.
All decisions are on a strict time limit; If they warrant longer thought then they need to be
subdivided until they reach a useful size. All choices must represent an activity never a laziness. - No angst. Anticipating bad happenings or remembering past bad happenings is only a form of torture.
This is like the first rule except for enforcing feeling-decisiveness -- ensuring
that my feelings are calibrated to the situation RIGHT NOW, which is where their main usefulness
lies. - Think absolutely. Comparisons between you and others, or one other and another other, are very limited in usefulness and accuracy; Everyone is unique (some more than others), nearly enough that they would be classed different species if they were animals. Similarly any kind of preoccupation with the thoughts, feelings, or goals of others is futile -- they will always be a distorted reflection of your thoughts, feelings, and goals.
